Flevoland is home to National Park Nieuw Land, with the Oostvaardersplassen, Marker Wadden, Lepelaarplassen and Markermeer at its core. A true paradise for lots of bird species - you're definitely going to need those binoculars!
In 1968, the Flevopolder was reclaimed and pastures, villages and towns took its place. Yet a large, wet part also remained unused. In this wetland rich in birds, man and nature work together in a special way. Along the way, you come across heck cattle, konik horses and red deer, whose grazing keeps the grasslands open in a natural way. And these animals in turn require care and management.
Discover this wetland rich in birds and experience how each season has its own dynamics and surprising developments. Along the way, there are plenty of viewpoints and bird-watching huts, which are well signposted.
