Urk
Urk is a lively and characteristic fishing village, where you can still experience the authentic island feeling. You can still hear the Urk dialect and you can take lovely walks through old alleys ('ginkies') and streets. Urk is synonymous with fish. So enjoy delicious smoked IJsselmeer eel or other fresh fish in the cosy harbour.

Nagele
Nagele was built by the architectural group 'De Acht'. Its members included architects Gerrit Rietveld and Aldo van Eyck. Characteristic of Nagele is its spacious layout, abundant greenery and houses with flat roofs. Modern materials such as concrete and glass were mainly used. Would you like to know more about Nagele's special design history? Then take a look at Museum Nagele.

UNESCO World Heritage Site Schokland
Schokland is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a symbol of Dutch life with the water. You will find traces of human habitation dating back more than 10,000 years. It is a place between land and water, in the middle of the Noordoostpolder, which is rich in archaeological soil treasures.
