The Zeegroene Loper route

20 minutes (1.4 km)

Almere Centrum's art route, De Zeegroene Loper, represents the city built on the former bottom of the sea. This is where urban art and natural splendour come together. Are you curious? Then walk this route! You will pass the following sights:

Artwork Almere
One of the new gems is ‘Kunstwerk-Almere’ on the facade of the station on the Mandelaplein side.

The Seabank
Between the Library and the City Hall stands a striking piece of street art: De Zeebank. The Seabank is the eye-catcher of the park and acts as the first artwork of the Zeegroene Loper, a new art route stretching from the train station to the Weerwater.

Floor painting at the Corridor
In the heart of Almere shines a work of art that is part of The Sea Green Carpet and represents the city. Artist Kasper Jongejan has brought this masterpiece to life with his unique vision. This artwork can be admired in the ground floor of the Citadel, near Sportpaleis, Jumper and the Basic-Fit Ladies.

Street Art Frankey
Street Art Frankey has completely transformed the monotonous lift shaft on the Esplanade. The result is a striking boeitoren crowned with a quirky puffin.
The artwork can be admired on the Esplanade on the right, in front of the Kunstlinie.

Floating Forest
The Dobberend Bos has moved from the former Floriade site to a new location in the Weerwater, on the Meeresteinkade behind the Flevo Hospital and is now also part of The Sea Green Carpet. The Floating Forest will remain in this new location for at least five years. The Floating Forest tells the story of the value of trees for the climate, biodiversity, liveability and health in the city through greening, sustainability and the need for climate adaptation.
