Follow the hiking trail in the Wilgenbos. The Wilgenbos is a real primeval forest. It was not planted, but grew naturally as willow branches sprouted spontaneously during the reclamation of the polder. The Wilgenbos is truly a polder jungle: a tranquil green oasis along the Oostvaardersdijk.
This is an adventurous walk. There are no paved paths in the Wilgenbos. Most paths consist of grass or clay and are not flat or level. The route is therefore not suitable for wheelchair users, rollators or child buggies. Wearing boots or sturdy walking shoes is advised.
Dogs are not allowed in this forest. Coming by car? Then it is best to park in the Oostvaardersdiep car park.
