In the Silent Core of Horsterwold you are allowed to get off the beaten track, or stroll. This gives you the best chance of encountering roe deer, foxes, Konik horses and other wildlife. This route is not marked in the field. The gpx file of this route is therefore only an indication of where you walk along, but you should choose where to walk. Otherwise, it's not hiking either....
The route starts at the car park on the Flediteweg, then heads south along the Groenewoudse tocht before turning to the Bingelweg, a former management road. You continue north and arrive at Horsterberg via the slenkgebied and the Grote Weide. From there, the route goes through the forest heading east back to the starting point.
During wet periods, it is advisable to wear boots. It is also wise to check for ticks afterwards.
