Oostvaardersplassen is a quiet and watery nature reserve that is great for hiking. The area includes wild vegetation, willow forest and swamp. Along the way, you will enjoy the beautiful plants and animals you encounter.
Oostvaardersveld, part of Oostvaardersplassen, is a habitat for various species of birds, such as spoonbills, geese and cormorants. Even the bald eagle can be spotted here. To facilitate that spotting, there are several viewing huts along the route. So Oostvaardersveld is actually a showcase of the Oostvaardersplassen.
The route is 7.4 kilometres long, marked in purple and starts and ends at Buitencentrum Oostvaardersplassen, where you can get information about the area as well as something to eat and drink.
