Just a few years ago, there was little for mountain bikers to do on and around city estate De Kemphaan. Now there are two mountain bike routes, where you can combine flowy trails through the forest with glacial climbing and descending. In the 2018/2019 period, the Kemphaan and Braambergen routes were constructed in Almere. Braambergen is perfect to combine with your ride on this route. A unique feature of the route is that it has an official trail centre that serves as a starting point. There you can also buy vignettes, have a drink, hose down or repair your bike, change clothes or go to the toilet.

The route (length 6.1 km) leads from the city estate of the same name into the woods. The instigator of this track is the MTB & More foundation in which a number of fanatic MTBers from Almere are united. They have accomplished a great feat by creating a route through the forest with flowy trails, winding bowl turns and pumptracks. The forest is surprisingly varied. Open spaces and dense forests alternate. The Kemphaan mountain bike route is one of the few fully (semi-)paved routes in the Netherlands. Thanks to the granulate, the track can be used all year round. See any monkeys swinging? No, then you are not suffering from hallucinations or hunger pangs. You have arrived at the AAP Foundation's enclosures. A trip along the route can be combined well with a visit to this sanctuary for exotic animals. Want to see even more animals? Then also drop by Almere Jungle. There you will find plants and animals from all continents. Fun for travelling family members!
A vignette (€6.50) is required to drive this route. This vignette allows you to drive all four routes in Almere. More about the vignette can be found at mtbmore.nl/routevignet
