At 2 kilometres, you see just enough for a fun diversions through Nieuw Land National Park. And why is it called the Deer Path? Well, you might just see a red deer walking here.
You can easily park your car or bike at the Hugo de Vriesplaats car park on Huge de Vriesweg. For the Deer Path, follow the yellow markings on the spot.
Parts of the Oostvaardersbos serve as a resting area for red deer in winter. The area is not accessible to hikers then, which is why this walk is temporarily closed. Announcement of the closure can be read on the Oostvaardersplassen foresters' blog (in Dutch). Dogs are not welcome in this forest.
