You walk the walking route along the Klimaatbos (climate forest) near Dronten from parking area De Schulp on Mosselweg. The route is marked with white arrows and runs through the Harderbos, of which the Climate Forest is a part. Dogs are welcome on this route, if they are on a leash.
The Climate Forest was only planted in 2008. As many as 6,000 people with a heart for nature planted a heart-shaped forest of 60,000 trees in one week. The Climate Forest is a 28-hectare forest that stores a lot of CO2 and draws attention to the climate problem. Hence the name ‘Climate Forest’. When planted, the trees were two metres high. Now it is a real forest with trees as tall as 12 metres.
