VR Experience: diving to the bottom of the Zuiderzee
New at the museum is the VR experience. Through VR goggles, you dive to the bottom of the Zuiderzee yourself. This is where many ships sank. So too did a ship on Urker territory near the Buitendijk harbour. The wreck, presumably a Schokker UK117, is largely still in tact and was formerly used as a fishing vessel on the Zuiderzee. Normally this ship remains hidden, but at museum Het Oude Raadhuis you can view this wreck in 3D. Look around 360 degrees, let yourself be carried along the wreck and hear the historical story of the fishing industry in the background.

Museum Het Oude Raadhuis can be visited from April to October from Monday to Friday from 11:00 - 17:00 and Saturday from 11:00 - 16:00. From November to March, the museum is open Monday to Saturday from 11:00 - 16:00. The museum is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
