I often enjoy visiting the De Kemphaan city estate on Saturdays. De Kemphaan is a piece of nature just outside the city, which also has a restaurant, a herb garden, Stichting AAP, a fun climbing woods area, great walking routes, a campsite and a shop. Almere’s city farm produces organic food. City agriculture is becoming increasingly more fascinating and significant. The farm’s aim is not just to grow produce, but also to give out information on healthy and sustainable nutrition and traditional entrepreneurship. The organic farmers’ market is held on Saturday mornings – from 9.30am to 1pm – in the city farm’s large shed.
