Anyone driving along the Houtribdijk between 1994 and 2000 could tune in to FM frequency 98.0 and hear angels singing. This so-called Angel Station was a work of art by Moniek Toebosch (1948-2012).
Toebosch wanted to offer a personal refuge with this audio artwork, transforming the car into a kind of contemporary roadside chapel. On the 26 km long Houtribdijk, in the middle of the IJsselmeer region between the Markermeer and the IJsselmeer, she found the ideal ‘empty’ landscape for the right experience of her angelic singing.

The province of Flevoland acquired the sound artwork Angels/Angels FM 98.0 in 2022 and included it in the register ‘Collection of landscape art Flevoland’. This means that Land Art Flevoland will henceforth include this sound artwork in its Land Art Tours.
