Flevoland is home to numerous marinas. The variety makes it fun and adventurous to sail around Flevoland. You can also sail inside the dykes. A large network of canals allows you to enjoy nature and vast polder landscapes from your boat.
Around the IJselmeer, Flevoland has the most ports. One in Urk and no less than four in Lelystad. They are all well-equipped. With spacious berths, good electricity and water facilities and modern, clean sanitary facilities. And from these ports, it is easy to cross over to ports such as Makkum, Hindeloopen, Stavoren, Lemmer, Urk, Enkhuizen and Medemblik.
The Markermeer is a wonderful cruising area for water sports. Hardly any other water in the Netherlands offers so many uncomplicated possibilities. It is a challenging area especially for experienced water sports enthusiasts, but in calm weather, even smaller vessels can sail the Markermeer. From the Markermeer, you can go to numerous other ports such as Enkhuizen, Hoorn, Edam, Volendam, Uitdam and Muiden.
With over 90,000 hectares of water, the Randmeren are the largest uninterrupted sailing area in the Netherlands. And because the water here is calm and shallow in many places, a perfect area to practice many different water sports. You can sail, windsurf, row, canoe and water-ski here. In particular, you see a lot of pleasure boating here. There is a lot to see, it is easy to moor somewhere, there are several beaches and it is a nice transit route to other provinces.
