At the mouth of the Hoge Dwarsvaart canal near pumping station Lovink is the artwork The Blue Dreamer. The functional surroundings of the pumping station are in sharp contrast to the useless dreamer lazily reclining in the water. The name refers to the three types of dyke names. The watchman is the outer dike that holds back the water. The sleeper is the inner dike and the dreamer is the dike lying inland.
Near pumping station Lovink is also the lock ‘The Blue Dreamer’. Only suitable for recreational boating. The name comes from the artwork located just behind the lock in the Hoge Dwarsvaart. The drop in the lock is 5.20 metres. From the Veluwemeer, this lock is easily navigable for boats of up to 20 metres.
